I am a Masters level certified grades (7-12) practicing mathematics teacher in Fairfield County. I have been teaching mathematics for the last 8 years and have been tutoring for 10 years. Beyond my degree in mathematics education, my degree in psychology and work as a counselor has given me the opportunity to tutor a broad spectrum of students with unique needs. I am available to tutor any student from 7th grade through 12th and college students with all levels (basic, college prep, honors etc) of mathematics through Calculus (Pre-algebra, Algebra, Algebra 2, Geometry, Trigonometry, etc) including Statistics, any business mathematics, ETC. I am also available to help students prepare for any standardized tests including SAT, CAPT prep, PRAXIS etc . Tutoring can occur in a local library or at your home, given an adult supervisor is present. I am familiar with much of the curriculum of lower Fairfield County and am currently working on curriculum for my district. Ideally I am looking for students to tutor between Stamford and Bridgeport ( Fairfield, Southport, Westport, Norwalk, Darien, New Canaan, Wilton, Weston, Easton, Rowayton, etc.) on weekday evenings. What towns do you cover?

I tutor in several towns. To list a few: Easton, Westport, Weston, Stamford, Fairfield, Norwalk, Darien, Rowayton, New Canaan, Bridgeport, Wilton, Easton, etc.

How much does tutoring cost?

The price of tutoring varies on the subject, level and duration. The higher the difficulty of the course, the higher the price. Sessions typically last one hour, however a price break is reflected for longer sessions. My prices will be cheaper than any of the tutoring placement companies in the area and I promise superior quality ;)

Where can tutoring take place?

Tutoring can occur in a library, bookstore, coffee shop, or even in the home of the student being tutored. I do my best to work with individuals to schedule a convenient location for both parties. Usually the location is within 10 minutes of your home. I will travel just about anywhere between Bridgeport and Stamford.

When does tutoring take place?

As a teacher, my tutoring session must occur outside of the regular school day. The earliest sessions start at about 2:30 and often I am available as late as 7 p.m to start a session. The weekends are sometimes available in emergency situations.

What does a tutoring session entail?

The type of session will depend on the student's needs. Often times a session will review new material since the last session, analyzing problem areas and developing remedies where necessary. Students should bring materials so that I know where the student has been and where the course is going. Materials from the students class are reviewed carefully so that I can develop a plan to meet the style of the student and the course.

What courses do you tutor in?

Odds are that if you are taking a math class, any math class, I will be able to help.

I have tutored several prospective teachers. Generally the hurdle that future educators need help overcoming is the Praxis Exam and I know a plethora of strategies to help you pass.
